Retrograde planets in Vedic Astrology
Sun and Moon can never be retrograde in any birth chart.
Rahu and Ketu are shadow planets and they always move in retrograde motion. They never move in direct motion. They are always retrograde in the birth chart.
Now all other planets that are Jupiter, Venus, Mars, Mercury, Saturn can be retrograde in your birth chart. One or more planets among these five planets can be in retrograde motion in your birth chart.

If any planet is retrograde in your birth chart then it means that there is a pending past life Karma related to that particular planet and now you have to learn that karmic lesson in this birth.
The retrograde planet has a higher intensity and capable to give fast results as compared to planets which are moving in direct motion. A retrograde planet is a very powerful planet in terms of giving results.
If a planet is in retrograde motion then it means that the person will do something different related to that particular planet or their thinking regarding that planet will be different.
Suppose if Jupiter is in retrograde motion. Jupiter represents knowledge, wisdom, children. If it is female then it represents her husband. They will have a different Karma related to Jupiter and they will do something different related to these things.
If a Venus is in retrograde motion then it means that these people can do something unique related to creativity, beauty, arts, fashion, love, romance, relationships.
Whether they will do positive or negative things related to Venus is depend upon the dignity of a planet.
If Saturn is in a retrograde motion then it means that these people will do something unique things related to the work. They may invent new things. They may be involved in a work where lots of patience is required.
If Mercury is in retrograde motion then it means that their way of communicating with other people is unique. They will think in a very different way.
If Mars is in retrograde motion then it means that you may see something unique thing related to power, aggression, energy.
Also, check whether a retrograde planet is sitting in Trik or Dusthana house or not.
Trik houses are 6th house, 8th house, 12th house. No planet can give good results in Dusthana houses.
If a retrograde planet is present in Kendra houses or Trikona houses then it is considered to be an auspicious placement.
Note: If a retrograde planet is debilitated then it works like an exalted planet.
The Retrograde debilitated planet gives auspicious results. We can check the placement of the retrograde planet in the Navamsa chart as well.
If any planet is Retrograde in the Ascendant chart then it will be retrograde in all the divisional charts.
Note: Exalted retrograde planet minimizes the auspiciousness results in the birth chart.
You have to check that the planet who is getting retrograde is the lord of which houses.
Also, check the placement and aspect of Retrograde planet.
Suppose If a person has a Gemini Ascendant and Jupiter is in 9th house and become retrograde then what happens?
The answer is Jupiter is the Lord of 7th and 9th house for Gemini Ascendant so the things related to 7th house and 9th house become important for this person. The person has to focus and perform some karma related to 7th house and 9th house.
The aspect of Jupiter will also become more important because Jupiter has three aspects that are 5th, 7th and 9th.
It has also seen that due to the Jupiter effects, the person about believing something will be more unique or strong.
If the natural malefic planet is retrograde in the 3rd house or 6th house or 10th house or 11th house then it will give good results because these houses are Upachaya houses. In Upachaya houses, all malefic planets give good results.
The result given by the Upachaya house will be becoming better when the age of a person increases with time.
If retrograde Saturn is present in the 3rd house, 6th house, 10th house, 11th house then it will give good and positive results and now If a person work is getting delayed earlier because Saturn is the karaka of delay too but now the intensity of results will be faster.
If Natural benefic planets that are Jupiter or Mercury or Venus are becoming retrograde then these people will not get more inauspicious results of those planets.
If these planets are getting retrograde in inauspicious houses then it will give good results.
If a planet is getting retrograde then these people may get health issues which are related to that planet, especially if that retrograde planet is present in the inauspicious house.
If a person has two or more retrograde planet in their horoscope then these people get more success in foreign countries instead of working in their own country.
